It has been hyped as the biggest clash of the Olympic swimming program, but it almost didn't eventuate after Michael Phelps came within a fingernail of missing the 400m individual medley final.
The battle between Phelps and fellow American Ryan Lochte almost became the Games first anti-climax when Phelps scraped into the final by just 0.07 seconds. - More
